App Architecture Project is Winner of OCMA’s 2008
“Health Care Design Award”
Adams County Regional Medical Center has been named winner of the Ohio Concrete Masonry Association’s 2008 “Health Care Design Award”. The new 94,000 SF replacement hospital is located near Seaman, OH in Adams County. The facility was designed by App Architecture. The design team included Heapy Engineering - Mechanical/Electrical Engineer, Shell & Meyer - Structural Engineer and McCarty Associates - Civil Engineer. Masonry Contractor was Crace Construction, Piketon, OH and concrete masonry producer was Hanson Aggregate.
The selection jury “.......praised this project for it's straight-forward approach to a building typology driven by function. The architects have skillfully employed various masonry materials in a well conceived and detailed manner. The horizontal banding moderates the scale while also adding a unifying detail to the entire massing competition. The jury felt the well detailed juxtaposition of the solidity of the masonry with the skeletal nature of the exposed steel at the entry is especially noteworthy.”
